Paws and Sniff changed our lives - not an exaggeration! I spent the first year beyond stressed unable to manage our high drive, high energy, working-bred vizsla, always feeling like I was not doing enough for him. We had spent tons on fancy puzzle toys, positive reinforcement training, etc. to no avail. I was under the impression that I had to exercise him so much that he had no choice but to fall asleep - it left us exhausted.
We were nervous handing him over to Taylor and Guled - vizslas are sensitive and we weren’t sure about balanced training. What we came to realize was that, rather than constant exercise, he needed to practice stillness and a calm state of mind. They trained US to better understand the needs of our dog, and to communicate clearly and consistently with him. Within the first week, our super smart boy had picked up on so much. Able to hold his positions, rest on place, pick up on dog’s social cues, walk in a heel rather than yanking us down the street … it was amazing. And they kept us posted through the whole process, which was so comforting.
We work really hard to maintain all the work Taylor and Guled put into our amazingly well behaved dog. We feel 100% confident having him off leash - he plays ball in busy parks, swims, even bikes! Prior to training, we had him on a long leash and would fetch the ball running after him like maniacs.
Now, there is no one I trust more than these two to watch Chauncey while we are away. They care about the dogs in their care so much and don’t hesitate to keep them safe.

Taylor and Guled (Paws & Sniff) are dog whisperers and the most talented trainers I’ve come across (I tried a few different trainers before I was lucky enough to find them). Kit, my 7lbs morkie, was just over a year when they started working with him. He was cute but scared of everything so he would bark, be reactive which lead to aggression and aggressive episodes. He didn’t know how to sit still or relax, he was always up and moving, stressed and alert. I would tip-toe around my apartment and stopped doing a lot of things for myself because I was so overwhelmed and stressed. Taylor and Guled helped me understand Kit, how to read his body language, how to protect him and make him feel safe. Now Kit looks to me, follows my lead and we have built this incredible trust. Now we walk around off leash everywhere. To say Taylor and Guled changed my life with Kit is the understatement of the century. They were so kind, patient, strong, informative, always responsive and supportive. But above all else, they love and respect all the dogs they work with and that made me feel so calm and reassured when I was apart from him for his training. They would send me pictures and videos and set up calls and walks. It was truly an incredible experience. And still Guled takes Kit on weekly hikes with 70lbs huskies and all sorts of pups, big or small, of all different breeds. Kit is so well socialized and now enjoys everything over stressing. He has so much fun with his Paws & Sniff pals! Taylor and Guled have also boarded him when I’ve had to be away, and I feel so confident and relaxed because I know they’ll keep him safe. He loves them so so much too and I’m just so grateful for everything they’ve done and continue to do for Kit and I. 5 stars doesn’t say enough about these trainers and their program. Don’t waste your time/money on failed trainers like I did early on. Taylor and Guled are the real deal! 🐶

I would highly recommend board and training (B&T) with Taylor and Guled! It has been money very well spent for both my partner and I and our dog. It has had a really positive impact on our lives!
We eventually decided to send our dog to board and training as his separation anxiety was quite severe. It began to really limit our lifestyle. He would be panting, stressed and crying almost as soon as we left him alone. He would try to escape his crate, which would result in damage to the crate and injury to himself. If we left him out of the crate, he’d destroy anything in sight.
Our dog is now able to be left regularly alone for 4+ hours at a time, sleeping peacefully in his crate. However, it is important to note he wasn’t ‘cured’ when he came back to us. Taylor and Guled are very upfront and transparent that the work continues once the dog comes home. It took serious commitment and consistency from both my partner and I for the first ~4 weeks or so. While the improvement from prior to training was significant he was still a bit anxious and took time to get comfortable with his crate at home. It seemed stressful and daunting at first to have to be so deliberate in our actions and how we interacted with our dog. However, it quickly became natural and we were able to incorporate it with the relationship we wanted with our dog. Our dog knows what we expect of him and what he can expect from us. He still makes mistakes (d’uh, he’s a dog), but we can pick up on behavioural signs (stress, anxiety, aggression, etc.) and stop them before they become problematic. It is really easy to care for him now. While it means we can finally leave him alone and have more freedom, he gets a lot more freedom too! Now, he can be off leash, gets to play fetch, and gets an invite to all family occasions! He is still the same goofy dog he always was, but with a lot less anxiety and a great understanding of good/bad behaviour.
Having such a well behaved dog was only possible with the help of Paws & Sniff. However, it is really up to us, the owners, long term to maintain the skills they taught our dog. We have been able to maintain the training months after B&T given the tools and structure they empowered us with. Taylor and Guled undeniably care for the dogs they train and they have been committed to helping us well beyond the B&T; providing a follow up session whenever needed. Our dog has since been back for boarding several times and he loves the hikes he gets with the other dogs.

Taylor and Guled trained our 1 year old Chocolate Lab, Remy, who was nearly impossible to walk and was overly jumpy and energetic. Remy is now 1.5 years old and has been phenomenal due to his training. We enjoy off leash walks and hikes together and he is an ease and joy to be around. Remy has learned to stay relaxed and listen in distracting and very stimulating environments. I know when we leave Remy with them he is in the best hands possible. Their passion for what they do does not go unnoticed!
Do you want a dog that heel walks, sits when you stop, doesn't pull, doesn't jump on you or guests, waits for permission, stays where you put them for extended periods of time, 100% recall when off leash? Yes we wanted that too and we got it with Taylor and Guled!
We have a 1year old mix rescue who completed their boarding program and it is worth EVERY DOLLAR! I can't stress this enough. We get compliments on him everywhere we go. Balanced dog training is the real deal- he has learned how to be fun and energetic but then to calm himself back down when needed-its amazing to see. Follow these guys on Instagram and see for yourself what they can do. Does it cost $- yes it does but I think of it like an investment in my dogs future (and my sanity). we make investments in our kids why would we not our dog- especially when the outcome is so amazing?
The experience we had with Paws and Sniff was nothing short of life-changing. Before Taylor and Guled, our 80lb Lab/ Collie Meelo would constantly pull on leash, to the point where I was unable to walk him without him because he would literally drag me wherever he wanted to go; he was reactive with people and dogs for seemingly no reason, and had absolutely no sense of recall whatsoever - not to mention, SEVERE separation anxiety as he was a pandemic puppy and has never known a life where we’re not home 24/7.
We chose the 4 week off-leash program and our only regret is that we didn’t do this months ago. We’d tried several different methods, tools and trainers and nothing seemed to be getting through to our pup. Before, I had also been apprehensive about using the prong collar and e-collar, but after Tay and Guled explained how to utilize these as communication tools vs. punishment, I was able to understand their role in balanced training and use them with confidence. It also seemed kind of scary, thinking about leaving our pup with complete strangers for a whole month! But these two are wonderful, wonderful people who are so patient, consistent, kind and SO thorough. They really care about your furry family member and want to see them (and us as owners) succeed, and it shows. We were kept up to date with Meelo’s progress through messages/ video chats and Instagram posts which definitely kept us at ease and gave us something to look forward to each day!
We constantly get stopped for how well-behaved our dog is, our friends and family have definitely seen a huge improvement in his behaviour and I cannot stop singing the praises of this amazing team. It’s an investment we are so glad to have made that’s made our relationship with our dog SO much stronger. I would recommend them to anyone and everyone who’s looking to improve their communication and relationship with their dog!
We did training with Guled and Taylor for our fearful and reactive dog Oliver this summer, and it completely transformed him. He gained so much confidence and they taught us how to be strong leaders. He did not like people he didn’t know or other dogs in his space, so advocating for him to others with dogs around us was so important. There was also so much trust gained that Oliver would stay in a command and not engage with another dog unless we agreed on a proper introduction. We are so grateful for them and we would recommend them as trainers to anyone with a dog especially if they have behavioural issues. The board and train was key for us as we had tried other types of training before where we went to classes and it just didn’t stick the same way. They taught him everything and set him up with all the skills (we would go a few times to learn his new commands, practice walking and being his handler), and then when we brought him home we continued with drills and structure. The work’s not over when you bring them home, though! You need to be ready to keep working with your dog everyday so things don’t slip. Oliver LOVED doing drills and having a job to do so it was a lot of fun for us and also a bonding experience. Oliver unexpectedly passed away last month from aggressive and terminal cancer. We are thankful he had these skills for the last months of his life to be able to have freedom in a safe way. When we are ready to get another dog one day, we will definitely come back to them for training. Thank you, guys!
Taylor and Guled are THE ABSOLUTE BEST!! We put our chocolate lab in their board and train program and we have never regretted it. Before going to Paws and Sniff Pets our dogs recall was not reliable, he would intensely pull on leash to the point where our wrists were in pain, and the final straw was when he swallowed a ball because he would not listen to our commands. We did not have control of our dog and it was becoming a huge concern. Taylor and Guled have helped us learn so much about our dog and about ourselves while in this process. They retrained us and we are so happy with the results. We get compliments on how well behaved our dog is when we're out for a walk or when guests come over. We work hard every day to maintain what they started. They are the most amazing trainers and you can see how much they care about every single dog in their programs. My husband and I know that our dog is in the best possible care when he is with Taylor and Guled and he absolutely LOVES them!
Paws and Sniff are incredible trainers and have quite literally changed our lives. Prior to working with them, our Dutch Shepherd was reactive, hard to control, lacked confidence and had little respect for us or our commands.
Since working with them, our relationship with our dog has done a complete 180. He is so much more confident, is very responsive to our commands and his interactions with other dogs are much much improved.
They also helped us learn how to better communicate with our dog and set boundaries and that has improved our relationship so much.
On top of all of that, we fully trust Paws and Sniff with our dog and have done boarding with them many times since completing the board and train program. He loves going to stay with them and gets a ton of socialization with other dogs in the process! Our dog is quite big and can be a lot and they are the only people we trust to care for him when we travel.
I wish I could express the gratitude I have for them, there is just so much we are thankful to them for.
I would 150% recommend them to any and all dog owners!!!
10000% RECOMMEND!! We put our pup Tessie (sheepadoodle, 3yrs) into board & train with Guled and Taylor about 2 months ago and we could not be happier!! Tessie had leash reactivity, and lunged/barked at dogs and she is so much more relaxed and happy now. We can confidently take her anywhere with us with absolutely no fear, and can say with 100% certainty that Tessie has a much better state of mind and is enjoying her daily life so much more now. I cannot thank Guled and Taylor enough for training my dog Zoey. Before the training, I had reached a point where I thought I would have to give her away. I was amazed by the changes in my dog’s behaviour just after 3 days of the training camp. Their services don’t just end with the training camp-they never deleted the WhatsApp group they created during the training where I still reach out to them after almost a year of for training advise.
Zoey often boards with them and they always re-inforce the training rather than boarding the dog and being the paranoid dog mom that I am I would never trust anyone else for my dog’s safety.

I absolutely recommend Paws & Sniff 100%!! I had my rescue dog Pedro for about a year and a half before we worked with Guled and Taylor. We worked with three different trainers during that time with minimal success despite my dedication to the techniques they were teaching me. I followed Paws & Sniff on Instagram for months before I contacted them so that I could see for myself through their IG stories exactly how they train dogs and how successful they are. My only regret is not contacting them sooner!
Pedro was fear reactive, pulling on leash, whining to get close to dogs, and barking/chasing them away if they got too close to him, especially when playing ball. I could barely touch his paws as he had a strong aversion - clipping his nails, trimming his paw hair, and putting boots on were impossible. After completing Paws & Sniff's board and train program for one month last summer, Pedro is "like a completely different dog", as his groomer said when Pedro went for a groom one week after coming home from Guled and Taylor's. Now, Pedro consistently walks at heel with a loose leash, does not pull, is calmer around other dogs, and responds to commands, especially recall. I can now trim his nails, paw hair, and put boots on him without any issues. Training with Guled and Taylor has made an incredible difference in our lives and I am so grateful for their on-going support post-board and train.
We have gone on hikes with both Taylor and Guled, and have experienced first hand how they share the public trail respectfully with other users and how impeccably well-behaved the dogs in their in care are. I've seen entitled and disrespectful dog owners who have no control over their dogs take no responsibility for their dogs behaviour or their own, and they treat the public trail as their personal property. It is honestly such an incredible relief to know my dog is safer now that he is well-trained by Guled and Taylor, and that they advocate for his space and safety from reckless dog owners on trails when Pedro boards with them.
These guys are honestly talented and amazing. Our 7 months old doggie took their 4 weeks onboarding program to be house-mannered trained & off-leashed trained. I could not believe the results I was seeing week after week. By the first week, our doggie wasn’t tugging anymore and was walking along side us on command. He understood the break command - that this is his time and his chance to potty. By the third week, he was off-leashed trained and had 100% recall -I kid you not! In the forth week, his resource guarding was non-existent. They put in A LOT of work and time into this and I am so thankful. I’m also thankful for all the confidence they instilled in us and all the coaching they’ve provided us (they are going to be our coach for life!) This has really relieved all the stress we were experiencing. Now we are working on maintaining everything our doggie’s learned so he can walk the trails off leash. I can’t wait to take him camping this summer to explore more of the world off leash!

Our dog Yoshi went through the two week house manners program. Taylor and Guled are amazing! They were so patient with Yoshi, and with us. They provided us with training, guidance and support and continue to be there for us. They did such a great job that we already recommended them to a couple of friends, one completed the program and one will be going through it in May. Can't thank Taylor and Guled enough.
My partner and I can’t say enough good things about our experience with Paws and Sniff! Training with them was a completely life-changing experience and we would (and do!) highly recommend them to other dog owners.
Our husky-mix, Wynnie, had severe separation anxiety and had even injured herself while breaking out of her crate in her previous home. I couldn’t even take out the trash or close a door behind me because she would start howling, chew up anything she could (her crate included), and would even defecate inside despite being totally house trained.
She was distracted and constantly pulled on walks. She had some serious selective hearing and would totally shut down in new situations and around new things.
We completed the two-week house training program and didn’t really know what to expect, but are still blown away with the results we got. The change has been day and night and we can’t believe how much our relationship with Wynnie has, and continues to, transform throughout this process.
Wynnie’s separation anxiety has significantly improved (we can now leave her alone for 3 hours comfortably). She walks in a perfect heel and is focused on her handler. She has the same weird personality and quirks but is far more confident and comfortable in the world. We get so many compliments when we take her to patios, pet-friendly stores, etc., and this is just after having her back home with us for a month.
One of the biggest reasons I boast about Paws and Sniff is because the people behind it––Taylor and Guled aren’t just great dog trainers but are also extremely kind and considerate people who genuinely care about the people and dogs that they work with.
They went above and beyond to help us understand the tools that they use, why they use them in conjunction with the other training techniques and to answer all of the questions we had along the way. They also really helped us to understand Wynnie and what she needed from us and how we were unknowingly enabling some of her unwanted behaviours.
We highly recommend them to any dog owner looking to develop a better relationship with their dog!
Hands down Taylor and Guled are the best trainers in the city. I had seen a few different trainers who were seemingly more concerned with the time limit than any results. My Sadie is an 11 month old 90 pound dog who was controlling my life; constantly biting, pulling, jumping, barking, bullying other dogs and much more. I couldn’t bring her anywhere or have people over. Opting for the 2 week boarding, Sadie came back a changed girl, truly. Taylor and Guled were extremely good at communicating with me while Sadie was with them and offering very generous follow up sessions. Our relationship is now built on structure and respect, I can now enjoy her companionship without all the chaos.
Taylor and Guled completely changed our crazy australian shepherd puppy Cluny! They provided us with the tools and strategies to feel safe with him off leash and confident in our abilities to continue training after the program. We are clients for life and have regular sessions to tune up skills. I cannot imagine what our pup would be without them. Can't recommend their services enough.
Taylor and Guled at Paws and Sniff are hands down the best trainers in the city. I would recommend them, without hesitation, to anyone who is looking to get their dog trained. From the moment I even considered working with them, they took so much time with me and my pup to explain the way they worked thoroughly, go through any questions or concerns I had and really clarify what this training would mean for me and my dog in our day to day life. The whole experience was so personalized, they were able to quickly identify what the issue was that was creating bad behaviour, and they were available to me always to check in, help me and give advice. The work they did with my dog is unparallelled and truly miraculous. They are my biggest supporters as a pet owner, and my number one cheerleaders. I now get excited to do drills with my dog, I LOVE taking him for long walks knowing how good he is outdoors, around other people/dogs and on his leash. They did that for me. My dog went from knowing only his name, to now us being stopped on the street daily and being told "wow your dog is SO well behaved!" He knows all his commands and his anxiety has been replaced with a focus and calm that I didn't know was possible for him. I feel incredibly grateful to have met Taylor and Guled, and my dog and I are so lucky that Paws and Sniff came into our lives, and changed them for the better.
It’s difficult to find the words that describe the gratitude that I have for Taylor and Guled. The relationship I have with my dog now is stronger than I ever thought possible. After a few sessions, it was like he was a whole new dog! He no longer reacts or pulls, walking in a perfect heel when we past other dogs and is an absolute joy to take out and go for a walk or hike. Because of the unique training program at Paw and Sniff, that includes proper education and training to use the prong and e-collar, my dog is happy and his behavioural issues are completely gone. He enjoys his life and the structure that his training brings to it, including being able to 'place' on anything ;). I will forever be grateful!

I had an absolutely fantastic experience with Paws and Sniff! I rescued a dog from Costa Rica who needed to gain some confidence and work on her house manners. The team at Paws and Sniff were so accommodating and welcoming when I reached out to learn more. From there, my dog was placed into the house manners program where she was boarded and trained for two weeks. During the second week, I joined the team to integrate my dogs new skills into my life and we've been better ever since! My dog is so responsive to her recall, has an impeccable heel walk, no longer cries when I leave and is so comfortable and calm in her crate. I could not have asked for a better experience and am more than satisfied with the results. My pup is happy and so am I :)
I highly recommend Paws & Sniff if you are looking for dog training! Taylor and Guled have truly changed our lives. Our dog, Chandler, who is a beagle and PBGV mix was very reactive to both dogs and humans. He was very nose driven and would constantly pull during our walks. We could not trust him off leash at all because he had next to no recall. We did not know where to begin to change the behaviour in Chandler and we were not sure what training would be suitable for our situation.
Thankfully, Taylor and Guled lived nearby and we saw how well behaved their dogs were (specifically off-leash). We decided to reach out and enrolled Chandler in their Board & Train program.
All I can say is money well spent! Taylor and Guled really took the time to understand Chandler and his needs. They taught us how to provide the proper leadership for Chandler to fully gain his trust. Now, we walk Chandler off leash all the time on busy streets around people and dogs. We can comfortably have people over knowing Chandler will be well behaved. Its opened up so many opportunities for Chandler to be a bigger part of our lives being able to take him anywhere. Camping, hikes, cottages, coffee shops, downtown patios, he is able to enjoy all these moments with us.

Shortly after adopting a 3-month old Siberian Husky, my girlfriend and I saw Taylor walking a red Siberian Husky (Rocky) down busy Cherry Street. That was the beginning of the best decision we ever made.
Our Husky, Rory, completed the Paw and Sniff off-leash program 2 years ago. Rory continues to have the skills she learned working with Taylor and Guled. They are both talented, have great knowledge, and will teach you the tools for you to take your relationship with your dog to the next level. We could not recommend them more.
We continue to board Rory when we are out of town and could not ever think about leaving her with anyone else. We completely trust the entire Paw and Sniff team (including Rocky, James and Cory!) and know that Rory has the best time.
Guled and Taylor at Paws & Sniff are nothing short of amazing. I have had the privilege of working with them in various capacities (daycare, training, walking, boarding...probably more) since late January 2020. They helped my 80lbs German Shepard mix rescue, who I had no business bringing home, and me learn how to manage and thrive together. They have taught my dog, Roland, rules and structure - and taught me how to enforce them - so that he and I can safely be out and about almost anywhere, have lots of fun and be safe. They keep my dog safe, but also make sure that he has loads of fun and love. I cannot recommend them enough.
We took our one year old shepherd cross rescue to Paws and Sniff for leash training. Over a matter of hours, we watched our pup go from easily distracted and obsessed with squirrels to attentive and obedient. Later on we boarded her for a month of training and now we can confidently walk our dog off leash almost anywhere in Toronto (although we prefer a hiking trail.) Taylor and Guled changed our relationship with our dog for the better and it’s hard to imagine how Wyatt would be without their training.

I could not recommend Paws and Sniff enough! Taylor and Guled are patient, kind and so passionate about their work and the dogs they work with. There is so much care and time put into what they do. They understand dogs better than anyone I have ever known, and are wonderful teachers for humans as well lol. The most important part of our dog’s training was that they “trained” us as handlers, gave us the tools to continue the training at home and live a more balanced lifestyle.
When we first adopted our two year old rescue husky, he was stubborn, high strung and extremely challenging to walk or bring anywhere for that matter. I was feeling very hopeless, but then a friend recommended Paws and Sniff. From the moment I spoke to Taylor and Guled I was already feeling better. They spent so much time explaining the tools and how the program works, what to expect and how we needed to alter our relationship with our dog. It seemed daunting at first, but when our boy returned home from his 4 week board and train, he was like a new dog and the balanced lifestyle became like second nature to us. Our dog is very much still the same sweet, silly, affectionate, energetic and wonderful dog we always loved, but after completing his training he is now able to explore the world and be himself SAFELY! He was previously a flight risk now goes off leash everywhere. We get compliments every day about how well behaved he is. We trust him in situations where he would have been unpredictable before (like 90% of the dogs we know) and can feel the trust he has for us in return.
I am so grateful to Taylor and Guled, training with them was the best decision we’ve ever made for our dog!
